Work Experience
Teaching Experience
August 2003 - Present
I have eighteen years teaching experience, which includes grades K-12. During this time, I embraced the challenge of implementing the vocal music program in various schools by creating the curriculum, observed and managed the growth of the program, and create school-community and relationships. I have also incorporated arts integration in student learning which assisted in strong academic growth. My aim is to always create a student-centered learning environment filled with respect and optimizing the learning atmosphere.
Leadership Experience
April 2011 - Present
As an aspiring educational leader, I have been awarded the opportunity to serve in leadership roles in the community and within a school system. To name just a few, I am currently the M.I.N.T. Advisor, where I mentor new teachers at my current place of employment. I also supervise the school in the absence of administration. I was the Co-Owner of Fancy Feet Dance Studio, I Directed and Coordinated the 9th Grade Academy, where I supervised a group of employees and monitored the progress of all 9th grade students. I was fortunate to be the K-5 Arts Department Chair and on the Leadership Team. I was also the sponsor and director of various clubs. I have also presented trainings and professional development for teacher growth in the area of arts integration, classroom management, and pedagogy, to name just a few.
Future Aspirations
Present - Prospective Future
As I transition from leading and serving in the classroom to becoming an educational leader within a school system, I aspire to serve teachers in arts administration or as a principal of a performing arts school where I can support the development and the advancement of teachers and students to achieve personal and academic success by promoting teamwork and cooperation. With my drive and determination to see growth and success, I aspire to serve in a supervisory role or become a district leader. However, I will not limit myself as doors of opportunity open.
